The Bureau of the Census in Washington DC states that the group known as the elderly population or the sixty five (65) and older crowd is also becoming the fastest growing people in the United States of America. They are also becoming the most targeted people to be abused, financially, physically, mentally, sexually, and emotionally. What can be done to protect this vital group?

One of the great gifts of life that a person can have is the freedom to choose. When I was a young woman, my father frequently reminded me that the things that I do and say are decisions that I make for my life and that those decisions will shape my future life either positively or negatively.

    Living Without Fear

Looking back on the year 2010, there was a theme that dominated the world and pervaded the psyche of all of its inhabitants that can be summed up in one word: FEAR.

Fear is an idea that is created in the mind. It has the ability to take over the emotions in a person’s body and become a reality. The recent natural disaster that struck Japan incited fear in many Americans who became fearful of earthquakes, tsunamis, and nuclear poisoning.

In the aftermath of this recent seismic event, Americans began taking iodine pills and stocking up on earthquake rations. The fear was palpable. It led to a run on supplies which made the event quite profitable to those who sold earthquake packages and to the pharmaceutical companies who manufactured iodine pills.

My sister, who was twenty years older than I, had always been the outgoing friendly type who knew just about everyone in her neighborhood.

    I Love Parties

I love parties! Relationships grow when people celebrate shared blessings. In our household, we love to entertain and spend time with friends. Even my ten-year-old loves the social interaction; he's earned the nickname "Activities Director." We find that parties can just happen—friends show up on the spur of the moment—or that parties can be elaborate and planned.

In setting up a home office, the first thing that I would look for is a space in my house from where I can work professionally, as I would from any other office.
