Robert Frost said, “The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep.”

This quote is so large and full of meaning. The woods are a great place of wonder and mystery; Frost was never afraid of a little mystery. In fact, he loved things in the natural world that would give us pause and a chance to wonder. But he was a pragmatist, in some ways. He understood that life was not all play and not all just for our own enjoyment.
He wanted us to appreciate relationships and how life was not just about ourselves.

These two lines, bring that all out and more. In a sometimes overly “ME” society, we must remember though we could get lost in the woods for days upon end, life is not only about us. We have a responsibility to each other; to be there for each other, to serve each other, to give of ourselves to each other. Take time, get lost in the woods, but come back and play your part in another’s life.
