I suppose this is going to sound strange coming from me, since I’m the one who’s always telling everybody to take action and get to work and nothing comes easy and there’s no shiny “get rich” button to press and so on and so on, and I’m not changing my mind about any of those things, but I do want to suggest that you don’t need to be working quite as hard as you might be right now.

There seems to be a prevailing attitude that doing it yourself is always the best way to go. I have no idea why that is. There’s no reason to do everything yourself when there are perfectly capable people out there who can do so many of your specific tasks for you.

I’ve also seen many new internet entrepreneurs get stopped dead in their tracks before they begin when they see that it’s going to take some real work to start their internet business. They get worried about creating their product, designing their website, setting up shopping cart software, and so on.

Well, I’m here to tell you that you don’t need to worry. How about this: why not try outsourcing some of your work to those who have the time and the experience, and can most likely get it done in a much shorter amount of time?

I’m sure you’ve seen, or at least heard that there are plenty of folks who specialize in specific tasks having to do with online business, such as website design, copy writing, database management, transcription services, writing articles and press releases, and search engine optimization. In fact, if you want, you can even get someone to write your whole ebook for you.

That’s right, you don’t have to create your own product, you only have to sell it.

I’m not saying you don’t need to do any work, but you don’t need to do it all yourself. And why would you bother trying? Do you really want to spend months learning a lot of HTML code and designing your own website, when you can hire someone to do it for you in a week?

I understand that money might be an issue, but these things won’t always cost all that much. If you do your research you should be able to find someone who can take care of it for a price that’s fair for both of you.

There are a few places you can go online to get started. Sites like elance.com and guru.com have service providers looking to bid on your project. One quick note about sites like these: when hiring someone to do your work, don’t always just go for the cheapest bid. Look at their work and their feedback and see if it’s up to your standards.

Be sure to find a quality service provider at the right price. It’s important to pay people the right amount for their work, but it doesn’t have to be as expensive as you might expect.

Now, there are going to be some things that you will have to do yourself. You can’t outsource everything. Remember that you are the face of your business, and it’s best if you’re the one connecting with your visitors, customers and subscribers. Plus, some jobs are going to be very small and easy, so you might as well do them yourself if it’s only going to take a few minutes, rather than paying someone.

But if there’s a big job that’s slowing you down, or stopping you completely, why not get someone else with the right expertise to take care of it for you?

You’ll have more time to work on the important things, like growing your business.
