It seems to be forgotten these days, the one exercise that is
essential to mankind. It's more functional than the push-up ... in fact, its the most important
joint movement for the human skeletal system. It's the squat.
Why has it
been long forgotten for many of us? I have no clue. Maybe
because it's old school or maybe we feel like we use are legs enough
already in are busy days. But the squat is arguably the most
athletic movement you can do to strengthen your core,
improve flexibility, increase stamina and improve bone density. This is
not something you do just to get bigger or stronger. You do it everyday when
you get out of your car, sit in your office chair, get out of bed
etc.
If you don't squat as part of your regular exercise routine ... find a way to add it in today.
It will give you results like nothing before it. It will improve your health and longevity and it will
make your daily tasks so much easier.
If you really want to succeed in
your fitness program get off the giant rubber ball, cut back on the
side laterals, get off the leg press. Make time for a body squat, bar
squat or any type of squat. It doesn't matter if you are a grandmother, housewife, professional athlete or general fitness buff ... squat!
